I’m writing to give you something to watch while you stay in.\n\nI was actually meant to be back in the US this month releasing the film in a few theaters, but that’s obviously canceled now. It’s more than a little frustrating since I spent the past six months trying to get art house cinemas to give my film a chance. With no idea when things will return to normal, and since I don’t want to sit on it for a year, I’ve decided to go ahead and release the film to everyone who supported the film early. I don’t know if it’s a huge mistake to try to sell a documentary during a global pandemic, but even when things do return to normal, there’s going to be a huge backlog of films competing for places in cinemas. One thought I had was to make the film available for half price, $5, as a “sneak peek” for the duration of the lockdown.
