video 1.0 VHX https://www.vhx.tv/ The Lonely Life http://thelonelylife.vhx.tv ‘The Lonely Life’ is a short film starring Will Oldham (Bonnie ‘prince’ Billy), which was written and directed by ((SOUNDER)) front man Michael David Aho as a companion to their fourth-coming LP ‘The Howlingest Call’. The film is a Rod Serling-esque journey of a man whose head was cryogenically frozen in 1972 and has been brought to life in modern times. Aho, himself a visual artist and renown director, enlisted the help of friends and frequent collaborators Michael Sieben (The Wonderful World of Oz), Travis Millard (Dinosaur Jr./El-P) and Jeremy Fish (?—what’s the most famous thing j fish has done?) to create illustrations to be deconstructed into hallucinatory animations. ((SOUNDER)) is the music project of musician, visual artist and director Michael David Aho.  The music of ((SOUNDER)) stumbles between the familiar and strange with catchy hooks and melodic crescendos being swallowed-whole by the swarm of haunting noise and low-fi loops. Aho’s music is more then a component of his overall creative output, it is the foundation of an all-to-inviting world he has constructed, filled with bitter ironies, thinly veiled beauty and the possibility of a trap door at any moment. In recent years Aho has directed videos for Mando Diao, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Bill Callahan and Jason Lylte (Grandaddy).  Earlier this year he collaborated with Jack Black, Biz Markie and Wayne Coyne for a song and video he both wrote and directed for the children’s show Yo Gabba. ((SOUNDER))’s current line-up is J. Lee and Tom Hoff (American Analog Set), Yamal Said (The Black) and Travis Cooper. <iframe src="https://embed.vhx.tv/packages/4314" width="1280" height="720" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> 1280 720 https://vhx.imgix.net/thelonelylife/assets/60cdbcd3-ac74-41a8-9298-6e223c08e390/bike+crop.jpg?auto=format%2Ccompress&fit=crop&h=360&q=70&w=640 640 360
